1. I’m not the most spiritual of people but I know people who love crystals. This August bullet journal cover from @plinthced would look lovely in a range of colours. Purple used to be my favourite so this still appeals.

2. I love cats (but not in real life – due to the whole dead animal gift thing) and I have done a similar design digital notebook This design is from @cynthiabujo

3. I remember at one point it seemed no matter where I turned there was lemons. It was really odd. I don’t mean in style or fashion, I just mean in everything. People carrying bags of lemons, recipes, book covers. It was so odd. Enough rambling, this lemon inspired cover is by @marthasjournal

4. This design by @bujobyjanneke is simple but effective. I LOVE the handwritten August.

5. This design by @leelajournals is perfect for those who don’t want to do any colour. The minimalist look.

6. I am quite partial to a sweet (in America they call them candies?) This design by @skyyjournals is in some lovely shades of sweet pink.

7. I used to go to the Isles of Scilly a lot and there was a lighthouse that I used to go and visit just for the view. This design by @bujo_by_bee reminds me of those lovely summer days.

8. This design by @dulcetjournals has yet another lovely handwriting style on it. I wish I could do that, I truly do.

9. This reminds me of some stickers I started doodling a while back. Totally forgot! This design by @bulletsandconfetti has reminded me to get making them again

10. This celestial design by @lafondari is in a deep blue which I adore. The gold pen just finishes it off

11. This ice cream August bullet journal cover design by @begumjournals sums up Summer (in this house anyway). All I hear is “Mum! Can we have an ice cream!”. This would go with the ice cream mood tracker in this post.

12. We established earlier on in this article that I have fond memories of a lighthouse in the Isles of Scilly. Here is another by @dutch_dots

13. This is a bamboo themed cover by @kc.bujo. I would never have come up with this in a million years. Mainly because I’d be dead by then but hey ho.

14. This is the first design that I’ve seen with the calendar on it. It is by @littleolivebujo. Makes sense to me to have an at a glance on the cover page. I wonder why not many do that?

15. Purple seems to be a very popular colour for bullet journaling. This design by @bulletwithe shows the planets and spacecraft hanging from string. Reminds me of a mobile.

16. This design by @bujodanaty is different because it is 3D. They have used washi tape and cuts outs to personalise it. I also love the fact they’ve done a calendar.

17. Such a beautiful watercolour sunset! I went up in a hot air balloon many years ago over the Cotswolds as the sun set. It was magical. @suncerulean has captured the sunset beautifully.

18. @amandarachlee has done an August cover here that reminds me of some retro digital notebook covers that I made. It rockets me back to my childhood! Yes, I’m that old.

19. This pretty jellyfish design is by @veronicajournals and has a lovely palette of colours.

20. This lovely wave is from @annajournals_ and reminds me of crazy stormy days when I was on holiday in the Isles of Scilly back in 2005. Winds of over 80mph!

21. This bright and colourful design is from @bujopizza and is not what I was expecting whilst browing instagram. According to the designer it was popular last year so I’m going to look to see if there are more pages in this style.

22. Isn’t this just beautiful!!! @sweetbulletjournal has created an amazing piece of artwork. I would love this on the wall, never mind in a bullet journal!

23. This simple design was painted by @bujowithnato. It is simple and I know that if I painted that then I’m sure the pink rectangle would be all striped where I’d messed up!

24. This is a floral design which you could colour in at a later date if you suddenly changed your mind about the black. It was created by @lisanplan

25. This design is by @planforproductivity and is a collage. We’ve only seen one other collage one up until now in the list. This design is a great way of using up scraps of pretty paper.

26. If I was  having an indecisive month then this is what I would go with! It is bold and it is simple and it is by @supermassiveblackink. I guess if I suddenly got inspired I could then add to it. Maybe doodle as the month goes on?

27. This is my absolute favourite design up until now on the list! It is beautifully detailed. If I could draw like @january._journal I would be a happy lady!

28. This design is by @cypscribbles and portrays ocean life.

29. I love sunflowers almost as much as I love daisies. Well this design from @bujoandcookies is a cheerful design for August.

30. I have found quite a few ocean themed August bullet journal covers. Can you see the disney character hiding in this one by @jade_journals?

31. I find this one a bit hard to read the month on but on the other hand I’m amazed by the intricacy of it. Cleverly done by @journautical

32. I don’t know what to say about this design from @my.life.in.a.bullet It is delicate and even with minimal colouring is pretty.

33. Such a simple sunflower design. The calligraphy finishes it off. This design is by @bujobeyond.

35. This design by @lafondari shows the beach in a bottle. Such a unique idea.

36. I love the speckling on this design.  It really adds a finishing touch. The design is by @bumblebujo and I will definitely be checking out more of their work.

37. We had lemons earlier on the list so I won’t bore you with my lemon thoughts again! This design is by @kirbycat.bujo

38. I am a big fan of escher and his art illusions. This cover is exactly that, an illusion. It was designed by @bulletjournalnoob and depending on where your eye starts, are they holding a pencil or flowers?

39. This is the first time I’ve seen a quote on a cover (since starting this list). I’m surprised more people don’t add one come to think of it. This design is by @krhmila
